Happy Halloween

What a great Halloween Party . So many folks back, it was fun seeing who all has come in. Kay Gibson and crew really went all out we had vegetable soup, chili, ham & bean soup, those tasty spicy crackers, brownies, and ice cream for dessert. We also had drawings which paid for your dinner if you got lucky. The tables were all decorated so cute.
I can't tell you all the ones who won but I do know first place went to a very pretty blond, by the name of Betty Aderton, and prettiest costume to Dorothy Ritter, another prize to 2 ladies dressed as Nurses, Helen McBride and Linda Palermo.
I will try to upload a slide show for you of the party

Friday Oct. 30th

We had our last Friday donuts this morning. Over 50 there, lots of people back and ready for a fun filled Winter here at R.V.E.
I don't have a complete list of all cards sent but a few of them are: a card to Rollo and Arlene Fishers son-in-law to be, in the hospital with the h1-n1 flu. He was in intensive care, he got pneumonia. Also cards to Donna Passage who had hip surgery and Clay and Agatha Arneson's Daughter passed away suddenly.
We have seen lots of nice improvements in the park this year, the maintenence men worked very hard and with the 100 to 105 degree temps this Summer , I don't know how they stood it.We just got several streets black topped and the new shed is done and they're finishing painting the garbage corrals in the back, the hot tub is re surfaced, there's new "bumper pads" on the shuffleboard courts and they are painting the chalk boards, the big hall is clean and was kept clean all Summer, and many other improvements.
At donuts this morning, provided by Jackie Anderson, The Bensons, and Herb McClish, there were several things broght up: Tonight a bunch from the park are going to Beto's for a fish fry, biscuits and gravy Sat. morning, The Halloween Party Sat. night, and Mexican Train to start up this Sun. night, Flu shots given Fri. Nov. 6th. Also Doris Davis announced we will be having a whole different bingo night this year, they will try it for awhile or so and see how everyone likes it. There will be drawings and a new caller, by the name of Del, who was in charge of Bingo at his old park. It should be a whole lot of fun this year. Gene Ziaja is moving to John Knox Village, his mobile has sold already.
The gas prices have gone up here, $2.49 for regular and about $2.65 for Diesel.
There's a lady in the park wearing a big smile...she got a new golf cart!!!!
The guys were kidding her this morning about it. Oh, her name is Jacque Anderson lol
Have a good trip down everyone!!!

Friday donuts Oct. 9th

We had our coffee and donuts this morning with the Havertapes providing them.
No manager report. Really there was a small group there as there have been quite a few come in this week. Earl Dowell has his youngest Son and Daughter-in-law visiting from S.D. and they were there. We just visited about who might be coming in next, which is always fun, and who has already come in.
The news on Bill Hamlet is that he had three stints put in but later he went right in for 3 by-passes. He is now in icu and is in some pain. hopefully on the mend.
The walls are up on the new shed and getting streets ready for the new black top.
We had the ham and bean dinner yesterday, very very good! I thought someone said around 56 folks there.
Very very windy yesterday 30 to 35 mile an hour winds. Also this morning but not quite as bad.
