May 27th

Good morning everyone! We only had 22 folks for coffee and donuts this morning, The Adertons provided the donuts. We discussed the up coming Memorial Day get-to-gether, we are having grilled hot dogs and we are each bringing something to go with them. Sue said there are over 40 signed up.
Well folks I feel pretty fortunate to be living down here where we very seldom have storms...hurricanes yes but lots of warning when we are to get one of those. the news is filled with the tornado stories in Ok. Mo. and many other places getting bad weather. And I am really scared of storms!
Some news I received lately...Darlene and Jim Ales will celebrate their 50th at Chateau on the Lake in Branson, June 10th.
Joyce and Gordon Amos are going to be Great Granparents again, their 3rd.
Also heard from Jaque Anderson and she said Mial is going to have surgery as soon as he can get in for his shoulder which has alot of torn ligaments. She also said that she has become Great Grandma to a baby girl born the 24th.
We sent a card to Dale Cleland , not feeling well, and a card to Rita Henningsen who is in the hospital in Council Bluffs with blood clots in her lungs.
Our doggy broke 2 bones in her paw a little over 3 weeks ago and she just had the splint removed, but she won't walk on it much, hops around on 3 legs! It must be tender or she is just used to hopping around with the splint on.
On the 5th of June we are having cake and icecream to celebrate Pam Whites 60th birthday!
The maintenance guys are busy in the laundry room, they're going to paint the floor in there. They were scraping the floor and getting it ready. don't know what the plan is for the bath house in the 99 section...we don't get any info from management, and they quit coming to our Friday morning coffee and donuts.

Thanks to all of you who have emailed or called with news bits!

Friday morning May 20th

I took this picture this morning, the grass is so pretty and green and flowers are doing good.
Bobby is busy mowing this morning. It's a gorgeous morning here today.
Bill and Velda Lee Clement provided donuts this morning.I was up for just a few minutes. While I was there Rex Rexroad called and talked to all of us on Nancy Argos cell phone. We all enjoyied hearing from them. He said it's darn cold where they're at,(Nebraska). He asked if anyone got the tomatos he planted behind his shed...Nancy said three people just raced to their golf carts lol. Well, I am sure the birds probably enjoyied them!! It's always nice to hear from you all up North!
I didn't get in on any of the discussions this morning except they all were saying that Either Connie or Jack should be coming to the Friday morning get-to-gether, and give a little account of what's going on that concerns all of us. Seems to be a problem arose with some rent checks folks left here getting sent thru early. So maybe we can get them to start coming.
Cards were sent to Harriet Stromer, surgery and Glen Babbitt, having some health issues also.
We heard from Mary Lou Benson, they had a new Great Grandson, their 4th and one more due in Sept. Also Jim and Donna Goodwin will be celebrating their 60th Wedding Anniversary on the 10th of June, there will be a bash in Sloan, IA on the 12th and another big bash in Okaboji, at Cutty's resort on June 18th and their friends and Winter Texan friends are all invited. Congratulations to the Goodwins!!
Until I have more news bye bye for now!

News

We are back from Las Vegas! We had a great time. The crazy thing about the trip was that the weather was so cold in New Mexico and Arizona, down to the 30's and unusually cool in Vegas. We had 60's in the morning and 80's during the day, beautiful weather there. When we got home our weather was rather cool, 60 in the morning and 80 or so later in the day, very nice!. No rain, dry all the way out to Vegas, and very dry here. I guess it rains every day in Southern Illinois? Iowa getting alot of rain too.
Cards were sent to Maxine Wallace, (Connie Bardons Mom), Connies Step Dad passed away,a card for Nancy Argo, I had stopped to visit her 2 days after surgery, she is doing well, she had some bone spurs removed from her neck and they went in through the throat, so she has metal stitches which will be removed in a week, a card to The Henningsens, their Grandson was wounded in Afganistan, they heard that he was in stable condition, A card is now up to sign for Al Kruckman, he had a blood clot on his brain, and had surgery, he's home and doing well.
Martha Millender and Opal Wilson provided the donuts this morning. We had around 31 people there. Darlene Bryant had sacks for us to bring non parishable foods for the post office food drive. And Denny Argo gave us an update on Nancy and she's still doing good. Sue reminded everyone about the Mother's Day dinner Sunday at 1:00p.m. and Ken and Sue Barnhart made a beautiful new sign for our park!

The Eshelman's have a new Great Grandson born May 2nd!
Anita and Ken Farley had their Son Steve and Daughter-in-law, Tammy for a visit, then as soon as they left, their other Son , Dave came to visit.

While we were gone the folks here enjoyied a cookout! It sounded like they had a great time! About 60 came and brought meat to grill and potluck, Nancy Argo remarked that some people said they hoped we would have this every month! This Sunday, Mother's Day, the ladies are being treated to a dinner prepared by the men!It looks like 60 or more will be coming. We had our Happy Hour on the patio Wednesday and a nice group showed up.

Remember to send me some news to post!
We had a freak accident here Wednesday, our storm window was raised on the storm door, and Our dog Heidi jumped against the screen, the window came down on her left foot, she broke it in two places. She had to stay over night at the Vets and is back home doing good, she has a splint on her leg from the elbow down.
