The Expressway is closed! Those going to work this morning have to use the frontage roads. some overpasses may have ice on them. The frontage roads will get overloaded with cars.
We were warned last night to bring in pets, cover plants and when going outside cover exposed skin! They don't know what cold is down here!
Besure to click on the pictures to see them better!!!!!

Now if we had cold weather like Iowa and Minnesota has been experiencing and snow like this picture of my Sister, Mickeys, condo, in Alden Minn. we would have something to complain about.! By the way , Mickey we are to have 70's tomarrow and  80's this weekend!

January 14th

Well, shucks, Mary Lou sent me the newsletter so I could download it on the blog instead of me having to write so much of what takes place at the  Monday Club meetings each week but it's not going to be possible...It said when I tried to download it that I need Office on my computer and it costs $99.00 a year to use it....hmmm maybe the "Club" would pay for it  LOL

Sunday night the Men of a Cord sang, my neighbor Ken Farley is a member.
Friday entertainment will be The Powell Family
The Super Bowl party, Feb. 2nd sounds like fun..going to grill burgers and hot dogs prior to the game. And folks bringing food to share.

The flea market is Friday with lunch served

Sounds like the Mon. night dances are going great, I heard last Mondays music was really good and Diagos music the Monday before..very nice. Nice turnout!

Our windows in the hall and Valentine decorations are so cute...teddys and hearts, I know some of the gals who help...Janean, Diana,
Catherine, and Kathy.
Since 90% of the folks who Winter here are here, it seems kind of foolish to write a lot of the goings on here in the park as they go to the Monday meetings and also get the newsletter. so I think of folks who aren't here yet and those who wished they were here and can not be for one reason or another. I think of friends like Hejliks, Bob and Diane Griffin, who have health issues and aren't here yet, Dale and Val Cleland who love to read the blog and miss us and think of us and try to adjust to not being here every Winter, so for you guys and many others back up North, I will be writing things that may interest you and hope to do the best I can.

January 14th

I have gotten too many calls & emails to not do this blog so stop crying

January 6th

Yes it is only 40 degrees right now, and a cold North wind. But just wait a few days and it's to be 70's and up to 80 very soon
We had a great New Years Eve! The food was awesome, and music really nice, and games were so neat.
The hall was filled with card players and other games. Passing the grapefruit,( under the chin) and passing the carrot between the knees was hilarious! Also was amazed how well some could pitch a marshmellow!? lol

There are 4 cards up to sign:
Jack Bardon..heart problems, Arlene Lykken, fell, broke her hip, Rita Henningsen, a thinking of you card, she is now home, John and Marie Sylcord, John's Mother died, funeral is  Wed.

The Club website as mentioned previously is RVEWTC was created by Judi Dekoning, she asked if the club wants to maintain the site for $16.95 per month, more discussion next week. It's a neat site and probably would not need a blog like this one. As we would be doing double info.

The pancakes were so good Sat. morning. Thanks to Mark Wieners and friends! they will continue for the month of January

Aside from the regular street and park breakfasts,Craft/sewing class starts this Wed. at 9a.m. making earrings. Friday night potlucks start this week at 5p.m. Jan. 17th is the flea market, the 21st is the Iowa dinner, Jan. 24th blood profiles, Jan. 26th is RGV concert band, Jan. 29th Kansas dinner, Jan. 30th spagetti dinner

When Mary Lou gets her new computer I will be able to copy and paste the newsletter. Atleast that's the plan.
