I will post some pictures later.A lot of other things being freshly painted the pretty rust color, benches etc. I see Roberto's Son washing the big hall this morning. We had our usual Wednesday night happy hour and I noticed some people in the lobby. I went there and here was Elis and Veneda Ingels. They were from Wichita KS. Some of you may remember when they lived here. they were passing by and stopped in and were looking at the mobiles for sale pictures in the lobby. They are very interested, saying how much they liked R.V.E.

Friday July 8th

I don't know what happened to June, it went by so fast!

Irene and John Quail provided the donuts.

We had a little outing the other evening, quite a few of us went over to Lonestar B.B.Q. It's on Bus.83 just off of Shary Rd. Pretty good B.B.Q. , but don't think I would go back. We went over to celebrate Rex Rexroads Birthday.

Tonight a bunch going over to Mercedes for Pizza. The 4th was fun, the office providing Popeye's Chicken and we all brought a dish to share. We had several visiters Angie Browns Daughter and family and Judy Shively was here with her Grandsons. Also we were so happy to see Art Bloom up and about. That evening the City had a huge fireworks display at the park Southeast of us. We could really see all the fireworks from the 400's, they were beautiful.

There's a card up to sign for Sandy Novak, she had both knees done.A card for Petra Lopez, in the hosp. diabetes complications, and one for Gary Hejlik having heart problems. Sam and Helen Curtis on vacation to the East coast so I am doing the cards. Please let us know if someone would need a card.

The concrete was poured yesterday for the new bath house in the 99's. The office building all newly painted, it sure looks nice! I will take a picture this morning and put in here.
Riding around the park while it was somewhat cool this morning... the park looks so nice, everywhere is mowed up so pretty, the 400's and 99's and yards all looking very good. We could use a rain soon though. It's awful hot by 11:00 to 6:00 in the day time, close to or a little above 100.

The Century plant at Thomson/Maurers is really deteriating, it won't be long and it will topple over!

Did I tell you all that Frank, our maintenance man quit? So Ken Barnhart is helping Roberto and also Robertos Son is working with the men, Ken has been working right along with Roberto and Son, and remember it's 100 degrees about every day!!They all had a hand in painting the Office building, I wasn't going to post a picture of it until the shutters were on and Palms all trimmed up but thought you all might like to see it...I really love the colors, oh, and they painted the wooden bench around the palm tree in the pool area and will paint all the benches in the shuffleboard court, it's the same rust colored paint that trims the Office

Also painting has started on the outside of the office/cardroom building. It looks beautiful. I will have a picture hopefully next Firday, I want to wait until it's completed.

On the 4th we are having fried chicken and we are bringing a dish to share, we expect 45 or so to come.

Dorothy Ritter supplied the donuts today.

We have cards up for Lillian Bosch#106 , she fell and broke her hip, also Mark Kunkel, #411, his Mother died, and Bert Bryant has been in the hospital, quite a few days in critical care, breathing problems, home now.

Very hot here, but mornings and evenings are nice. Every day it's close to 95 to 100 and lows 80 or so
The new WalMart along the frontage road in Donna is just about done putting in a new gas station!
And the new "Raising Canes Chicken fingers Restaurant located by the Blue Wave car wash is opened, we haven't been yet but it seems like there's a lot of cars there.
