We had over 53 at our regular Friday donuts this morning. Opal Wilson and Martha Millender provided them.
Darlene Bryant who had surgery last week was there. She has to wear a neck brace for another couple weeks, but she said she has less pain then she's had since 1985. Her neck surgery was a success.
She has been and still does run our Friday morning meeting, with news and announcements etc. (Queen Bee) as some affectionatly call her. Today Manager Connie introduced our new Asst. Managers.they told a little about themselves and seem really nice. Also reminded us that our evening games we play are starting at 6:30 instead of 7:00, someone asked about a Mother's Day Dinner and Bobby said there will be something, not sure yet what.Anita Farley just got home yesterday from Houston, and all tests were negative for any more melanomas. She's very very releived.
We have quite a few Veterans pictures on our Wall of Honor. They look so nice, all are 4 x 6. Bopbby wants all Veterans who can to send him their picture for the wall, as soon as possible.
We had Jeremy from Creative Images come and take a photo for the cover of the photo album, you will be surprised, it will be really neat. We have new flags up in the front , they look so nice. The park is really shaping up. the floor was mopped yesterday in the big hall and looks good.In the 99's the wood around the dumpsters is all new on one, and they're putting in new wood on others and also the wood fencing will have new wood where needed.
The street on the South side of the High School Panther Way is open!. There's a motor bank almost framed on the corner of Pike and Westgate. It will be completed pretty fast I think. Also that new Bank in the H.E.B. store is operating.
Our weather is windy and dry. highs upper 80's or so and lows, upper 60's to lower 70's. No rain since before January.
Send me any home town news from your neck of the woods! Love to hear from ya!

Friday Donuts
We had our 1st Friday donut get-to-gether, with the office providing the donuts.
Since Darlene Bryant had neck surgery, and was still in the hospital, I ask Kay Gibson if she would mind conducting a little meeting. So she did!
The first thing she mentioned was to introduce a new couple who bought Lumas's park model #406. They are Dale and Mary McKean from Canada. They are not fully retired as yet but have come for a month or two for the last 3 years. Staying at Victoria Palms and then Ranchero village. They are acquainted with the Coakley's.
The next thing brought up was we are changing our game times to 6:30 for the Summer, Mexican Train, Hand & Foot, etc.
Also we are not having a regular Birthday Party each month honoring those having birthdays. We thought maybe an icecream Sunday get-to-gether every other Sunday or so. We haven't ironed out the details yet. Waiting for some more input on that.
Our new Mgr.Connie Barden gave a manager report. She said they have hired new asst. mgrs. They presently have a home outside the park but are trying to sell and want to move into the park. He is a handy man as such and wants to work right along side the guys. Connie said they would really be an asset to our park. She has very good computer and office skills. I will post a few pictures...one of our newest residents and the others, just taken at donuts this morning.
More news later

Easter Dinner
We had 120 or so for Easter Dinner. The Kentucky fried chicken was very good. the side dishes were so tasty!Kay Gibson had a pretty Easter decoration on our serving table and of course the Easter decorations on stage were lit and it was very nice.
Albeza Vallejo lot 288 went to the hospital during the night last night, but haven't heard anything yet. Bill Griffin has had ups and down since going to the hospital after finding out his kidneys weren't working too well.
Bev Ostrander lost her "Misty" she died during the night one evening last week, she was a very very smart dog. I think she was 13.
We are still awfully dry here. No rain for I don't know how long.
We will have our 1st Friday coffee and donuts coming up on the 17th. The office buys the first time. We are going to have a "mini" meeting every Friday with updates from our Mgrs. And any discussions and other news and events going on in the park.Trying to keep everyone up on things a little better this Summer.
For some unknown reason Panther Way, which had all new concrete poured a month ago or so was all dug up again on the one whole side of the street. It must have cracked or something is the only thing we can figure out. anyway they're getting ready to pour again. It looks like the visitor side at the high school is about done and have poured the foundation on the home side. As you know Bobby built the stadium there back in 1990. but I guess they want lots more seating, so they tore down the home side and erected it back up on each side of the visitors and are putting up a whole new homeside.
Bobby told me to tell all you Vets to send your 4 X 6 picture of yourself in uniform to us as soon as possible. The board is going up next week.
I will get a few pictures posted today. That's all for now

A resident of the park Passed
Esther Larson, wife of Leroy passed away. They didn't make it down this year because of her health. Leroy kept us informed of her ups and downs. April 2nd they were in the Dr. office when she suddenly said she was short of breath and her blood pressure dropped way down she went into cardiac arrest that afternoon and passed away
Art Voss has really worked hard on the floor in the hall. I think there was 4 coats, of whatever he uses on it, put down. It looks wonderful. When I filled in for a lady who sells pictures for the phtographer Rodney Grayam, (we were in Trophy Gardens) and a couple had just had their picture taken and I was selling them pictures afterwards and they found out I was from Rio Valley. They said we have a great asset to our park in Art and Mary as Art keeps that dance floor in perfect condition and that our park has the best dance floor around! He and his wife come here every Monday night. What a nice compliment to Art! And for our park!
Just got an email from Irene Quail. She was emailing as they were traveling in Alabama. She said they had been in more rain this week then in 6 months down here, and it was windy and advisories out for tornados and also there were golf ball size hail in the area earlier. Yikes!
Well, this is all the news for now, looking forward to our Easter dinner. Catered chicken and we all bring a side.
I will try to take a few pictures and let you know how many attended, as our family of friends is leaving our park pretty fast
