Having a great time!

We aren't letting some old Virus curtail our fun here at R.V.E. That is, we are doing some of our "fun" things trying to make the best of the situation.

We are having a golf cart parade Christmas Day, we will all meet at the dog park at 4:00. We are to bring our own snacks and drink, social hour after, masks and social distancing  of course!

Texas Holden is being played and games of "Tic", and "Dummy Rummy" I see some Shuffling and Aquasizes when it's warm enough.

Line dancing was fun this a.m. it's every Tuesday and Thursday, after "Yoga"

It's a little tough doing it on carpet, but we have no choice. Why they don't have the big hall open makes me so upset, I know the Hall would have to be sanitized but that's the Parks job and our job to wear masks and keep our distance. We can use our hand sanitizer going in and coming out and wipe down any table or counter we touch

Obit for Jr. Kaduce

Claus "Junior" Kaduce Jr.

( October 23, 1925 - November 29, 2020 )

Claus H. Kaduce, Jr. "Junior" was born to Janette (Hass) and Claus H. Kaduce, Sr. on October 23, 1925 on the Kaduce farm in rural Amboy and died peacefully on this farm on November 29, 2020.

In order to keep our cherished family and friends as safe as possible, a private family service will be held at Pleasant View Cemetery with Rev. Rudy Maurer Jr officiating, which can be viewed on the funeral home website at 2 p.m. on Friday December 4, 2020 and will also be recorded for later viewing. Spencer-Owen Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.  www.SpencerOwen.com

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Amboy or Pleasant View Cemetery.

Claus attended country school in Shelby township and farmed with his father.  He served in the Army in Korea from 1950-52 during the Korean Conflict.  Junior was united in marriage to Jean Madsen on March 9, 1957 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Winnebago.  Junior enjoyed farming with his brother Edwin for over 17 years and continued to farm until he retired at the age of 62. He watched his son Ken take over the farming operation with great pride and interest, particularly during the fall harvest.  Hunting and snowmobiling were favorite pastimes, as well as going out on Saturday nights with Jean and their dear friends for dancing and socializing.  Junior was competitive and valued times spent shooting pool and playing cards, particularly 500 and buck euchre.  The last 25 winters were spent with Jean at Rio Valley Estates in Weslaco, TX, including this past winter. He loved his family, his church, his farm and his community.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 63 years Jean; son Ken (Jill) Kaduce; daughters Carol Ries and Kathy (Doug) Bergemann; grandchildren Ryan (Renae) Ries, Thalia (Donnie) Potter, John (Amy) Ries, Rachel Mensing, Shane Sweetman, Trevor (Amber) Humphrey, Megan (Taylor) Morgan, Tessa Bergemann; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Junior was preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law Harry and Hannah Madsen; son-in-law Chuck Ries; siblings and their spouses Dena (Stanley) Madsen, Ervin (Verna) Kaduce, Edwin (Melinda) Kaduce, Vic (Gladys) Kaduce, Violet (Elwin) Wolters, Irene (Bill) Tyson, infant sister Hilda; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Fran and Dorothy Greger, and many dear friends.

Dec. 4th

A cute Christmas card!

It's been nice and cool here, lows in the upper 40's and 50's, highs only 60's up to 70 or so. Puts me in the Christmas mood!

Still only the small hall open and only 3 tables. I played "Tic"  last night, it was good to get out in the evening for cards and plan on doing that a lot more, not too much on t.v. to my liking.

Line dancing and yoga every Tuesday and Thursday, which I enjoyied going to yesterday.

A card shower for Catherine Donovan will be this Friday, the 11th for her 95th Birthday. There's time for you to send her a card if you hurry.

A cake will be taken over and there's a box at Pam's for cards from us
