Pine Trees

 

All the huge Pine trees getting cut down...they were dead from the freeze, there must have been atleast 5 or so cut down.

Mason City Get-together

 In the absence of Clermont and Iowa Pot Luck, some of us have decided to do a Winter Texan Midwest Get-Together . It'll be held in Mason City Iowa on July 9th, 10th and 11th. Some of us are arriving Thursday the 8th. On Friday we'll venture to Hansel to the Town's End Winery and Vineyards. They have quite a place, and depending on response, we may plan more for when we're there. Beyond that, this is not a formal organized weekend.. We'll get together and enjoy socializing. (There's a lot to do in the area.) .. there's a small campground right in town that gets good reviews.. Margaret Mac Nider Park .. The Benson's and I have reservations at the Quality Inn and Suites (link in comments). Would be nice to know how many are interested; we'll need number for the Winery for reservations and planning. Plan on a fun weekend!

 Happy Easter!

 Well, another season coming to an end. A season to remember. Not being able to mingle that much & not going to favorite restaurants, not being able to dine with a group etc. Lots of entertainers cancelled, very few dances. Some events down here cancelled until this Summer. Also missing our Canadian friends!!!Our Management says our big hall will open July 1st. So maybe we will get to have something for the 4th.

And of course we all will never forget the "freeze" , that was awful. Trying to find a motel with electric and then finding out they were booked up...it was a very cold 44 degrees in my house one afternoon, lost my Lime tree and flowers. Now trying to decide what to plant on the East side. I am going to do away with all the flower beds which were  full length of the mobile on the West side and just let grass grow up to the house. 

Our hot tub is out of commission, I understand for most of the Summer. 

Every day there are folks leaving, heading North! Lots went in time for Easter. 

There is a buying frenzy everywhere you go, WalMart, grocery stores, restaurants, traffic is terrible. I assume many people have never gotten so much money in their lives. When I was out to Wal  Mart today, people carrying out T.V.s B.B.Q.ers etc. Easter stuff flying off the shelves. Lots of familys shopping.

I will try to write more often, but will be doing some traveling this Summer. Facebook for news is always a good place to check on whats happening here in the park. 

Virgil White has sold his mobile to be moved out. It looks like Monday or so it will be out. Also Goodwins sold their park model and it's being readied to be moved out also. My park model is being moved out but dont know when they will get it moved.
