Friday June 29th

There was a nice turnout for coffee and donuts this morning. Red and Stan Floyd provided them. I counted 23.
No news is good news as they say. No cards up to sign, no major problems here in the park. Just need rain badly. We have a 20% chance today and 50% chance tomarrow.
We are looking for a fun 4th of July here. Have a great one!

Home again

We have been on a little trip to Louisiana and Biloxi, & Gulf Port Miss. area. Sorry that I haven't posted recently.
I did post a short note but some how deleted it after a few days. Not much news really, The deleted post mentioned Sue & Ken Barnhart provided donuts on the 15th, there were about 18 there. also the Father's Day dinner was discussed for Sunday. their Wed. night Social Hour went well with about 18 folks there. Sue said Clarice Cristensen made a very tasty cherry dessert, sure wished Mary Lou would have been there for that!!
(joke) she hates cherries!!! Can you imagine that? Anyway that was about all I had written. Pool heater still broke at the time , I am wondering if it has been fixed since we've been gone.
Friday the 22nd of June Havertapes provided the donuts. I received word from Anita Madsen that Harvey fell and broke his leg, was so sorry to hear that! Other than that I do not know of  any other cards up to sign.
The Smilebox of Father's Day below moves along pretty fast but if you need to slow it down just press Pause, then when ready press the arrow to move forward. Just a small slide show.
Darlene Bryant made Lasagnia and she had lots of help. Sue and Ken Barnhart decorated, Ken brought in a neat train and set it up, you will see his clever table decorations!
Gas has come way down here. I think someone said $2.89.9 in places? never would have thunk it!!!!We found Diesel quite reasonable on our little trip, $3.59 I think on average.
The park looks nice, the Palms were trimmed while we were gone.
Aloyce and Dave Berglunds #277 mobile is for sale. If you know someone interested. But just remember it's on our street and all of us have to approve new owners!
Just a picture I took this morning, watching the Martins, Ken said Bobby needs to build a bigger house!

Friday Coffee and Donuts

Hi everyone! I hope you are having a great Summer! We have been pretty hot down here, 90's with no rain only a 20% chance to day.
Gas prices have sure come down $3.11.9 at H.E.B. and Walmart yesterday
We have a card up for JoAnn Roth of Mexico Mo. Her husband, Kenny, died. They were here last Winter. The obituary is in the Mexico Mo. paper. A card for Fred Swaggert is also up to sign, he's in the hospital.
We talked about the Father's Day Dinner coming up on the 17th.
that's about all. We had a house raising after donuts today. The 2nd Martin House went up. Within 5 minutes there were Martins forn The Barnhart's Martin house checking out this one. They are building nests at Barnharts . We watched them bring in material just a while ago.

Lavada Heiskells Mobile

It was kind of a sad thing as the mobile home movers took Lavada's mobile out this morning. Her folks moved the (1972 model) mobile home into our park in 1973. Lavada says she was 19 at the time. She also said the park was a
family park back then. There were quite a few of us watching the movers, they pulled it out towards the front of the office then backed it out into the street.

Helen's Dessert

I hope you try making Helen's Dessert. I posted it before but I left out the whipped topping in the list of ingredients, I decided to redo the recipe so it's perfect! Thanks to Sharon from Magnolia Park for pointing the error out.

Friday June 1st

Well, it's really heating up here in S. Texas. Upper 90's about every day. We need rain so bad but there's none in the forecast. Everything is so dust covered, the dirt work on the drainage ditch makes for alot of the dust blowing. Paul and Doris Davis provided the donuts this morning. There are some cards up to sign this week, a card for Harell Aderton, shingles, Paul Davis is in the hospital, Grant Harter Sr. in the hospital, and a card for Tammy Lohmann, her husband died, this was Kay Gibsons Son-in-law.

I just got word that our sweet little neighbor doggy, Spirit, has crossed over the Rainbow Bridge, she had diabetus and was not doing well the last few months. Our Sympathy to the Southworth's, they will sure miss that little dog.
