On a Personal Note

As I said earlier I have been busy getting ready for the Craft Sale, I will have quite a few 50th and 60th Anniversary cards, all different so folks can choose which one they like, also I made these bracelets already and again Thanks to Barb for her patience in showing me how to make them, they take quite awhile to make but I think they're really pretty. I will sell them so let me know if you have a color preference. I will sell them for the same price as Barb's bracelets.$15.00
The one picture I did a close up sp you can see that there's alot of tiny beads in these!

Jan.17

I did the News letter for the last time today, I have a greater respect for Mary Lou now as I know what she does each week to get out the newsletter. But I have been pretty busy this week and this whole month actually so I will be glad to not have that to do! I just finished designing the style show tickets and printing them out and next is the brochure. I am getting more cards made for the craft sale and learned to do a beaded bracelet, thanks to Barb from Magnolia Park.Wow you should see her beautiful bracelets! She had a class of 34 ladies making one style at her park last week.
We had a pretty good cold snap here and lots of rain. So glad we saw the Sun today and it's warming up again. But this is our Winter now so we have to expect some cold rainy days.
There's lots of things going on in the park this month and next, the Red Hat Luncheon is the 19th and Friday is the blood profile day followed by the Veterans Dinner the 26th. In Feb. we have Western days on the 2nd and Bean Feed on the 9th,
Senior Olympics and the Craft Sale. Last Friday we went out to the "Horseman" for Fish and Karoke and this Friday we went for Chinese Food. How is anyone suppose to lose weight attending all these things? It is very hard!
We attended the Jam this last week and we had the pulled pork sandwiches, oh my! they were sooo good! At the next Jam they will be serving them too!
Well, just a short note this time too...busy busy

A note

I know I know my music didnt match the record on the Smile box slide show I created....but I couldn't find any other back ground that suited me lol.
Yes we have been having alot of fun being entertained by Marc Frana on Wed. afternoons, I wished we could keep having him on Wed. but as soon as word gets around he will be playing all over the Valley. We felt like we needed to give some $ for his great music so we passed the hat, and I am sure he appreciated it.I think a Wed. afternoon dance would be really fun, I really think a Sunday afternoon dance would go over. And maybe ........some day.... a 50's band??? for those of you who aren't down here, we have quite a few talented folks in our park who can entertain quite well, and Marc is certainly one of the best. A one man band!
Our 50's party is coming up in March and we hope to have one every year. Get ready for a real blast from the past!!!
The Spagetti Dinner was a great success, they gave such huge portions tho, they ran out of Spagetti, live and learn they say.
There was a big crowd for the Monday meeting, lots to talk about, by the way Kay has decorated our hall again and we really appreciate all the work she does on that,it look so nice and we are thankful for such a lovely hall, I have been in many parks close to our size who do not have near the facilities that we have here.Today before Happy Hour there were guys working on the organ, thanks to Ken Borah and Bill Hamlet & several others for their hard work.Bill Welch thanked them at the meeting Mon. Art Voss said the dances have picked up, there are now 2 Jams a month, serving pulled pork sandwiches, tomarrow. Other news from Monday meeting : Irene Quail sent cards to Harvey Roush, now in Re-hab, Evelyn McBurney, hosp. and Gene Koliba had surgery.
Coming up this month is our Red Hat Salad Luncheon on the 19th and Veterans dinner on the 26th. Our weather turned cold, down to 40's and a little mist on and off. But it looks like the weekend we will have warmer weather coming back.

I have worn my Winter coat for the last two days, one more day!

Happy Hour
