A little bit cloudy and rainy this morning but we still had a good turn out for the meeting this morning. Martha Lundgren and Clarence Moore both with Birthdays, provided the donuts this morning.
Brock has a really good idea, a lighted sign in front of the park, that way activities open to the public can be displayed, and also the Park can use it as an advertising aid.
The new popcorn machine is in and was used last night! they sold over 100 bags of popcorn.
Cards this week were sent to The Stenscruds, death of their Son, a card sent to the Philipps, death of Jan's sister-in-law, a card to Opal Wilson, death of her daughter-in-law, andt to the family of Lou Guier who passed away Sunday.    The sock hop is tomarrow and I will have a slide show of it, also below are pictures taken this morning of the senior Olympics winners, and a slide show of the Talent show from last night. there were 340 people who attended the show last night!

Entertainment at R.V.E.

More Whats Up Comments
Hey, How's everyone doing. This Friday night we have Rolando Reyes, a Rio Hondo school choir director, who has a fantastic voice. Although relatively unknown, Winter Texans who had already heard him are telling others how good he is. When not performing alone, he is the lead singer for Vance Greek's shows. The Winter Texan Times reported last January that “the best voice heard on Saturday belonged to a local young man, Rolando Reyes … the full vibrato and resonance of his voice could be heard and appreciated.” Join the other Winter Texans who have enjoyed this man’s beautiful voice. Reminder to Talent Show participants -- practice is Sunday (Feb 19) evening. Skits at 7:00 pm, please have you folks there on time, ready to go; an optional practice for any musicians who want to try the sound system should arrive around 8:15. See ya Friday night Brock

We always decorated a shoe box with crepe paper and hearts and exchanged Valentines with all the kids in our class and of course someones Mom always made those frosted Valentone's cookies? I still make the cookies lol! Anyway I found some pretty Valentine's Day cards on the internet and thought I would share one with you. This morning Sharon Barksdale our co-chair presided over the meeting as Janie Maxwell had to go shoot pool for the Senior Olympics. and Sharon Sprague was Secretary. The Anniversary Party is coming up Sunday the 12th. 50th honorees are Jim & Darlene Ales, Ken & Sue Barnhart, Richard & Donna Perkins, Dave & Rita Root, 60th; Bud & Loise Kraft, Leonard & Monica Paca, Jim & Donna Goodwin,Ralph & Mary Nelson,& Harlan & Virginia Haberkamp, 65th; Jim & Wanda Glentzer, & Ken & Mary Alice Eshelman, and 70th; Lloyd & Ann Mitz. Western days was really fun this year with very nice items auctioned off. Jerry said this is their last year to Chair the event and they need a new Chair. Jerry and Janie have chaired this for 12 years!
