April 28th

Missing all our Canadian Friends! Hi from South Texas!

I am way behind my posting this week, so sorry

I guess just doing a lot of weeding, pruning etc. in my flower beds, plus gave my neighbors hedges and rose bushes a little cut. Late Spring house cleaning also.

I hate to be in doors this last week was perfect weather, lower humidity cool mornings (60's) warm afternoons upper 80"s. We also got an inch of rain last week which was needed.

Thanks goes to Bev and Del Telfor for providing the donuts Friday. Bev brought them in as Del is in the hospital, Bev said he's in such pain he can hardly walk. So he goes in tomarrow for back surgery.
There are 2 cards up right now, one for Clarence and Diane Bernier, their sister-in-law died, one to Jesse, our maintenance man, his wife had surgery

Not much to tell around the park.  They filled in some holes with black top, as there are plenty of those. the mowing being done almost daily to keep up with it.

April 12th

A beautiful morning in South Texas!!!!!  71 degrees this morning and a high of 87, 93 Saturday and a cold front coming in  with a chilly 69 degrees Sunday morning and high only 80!! then back to low 90's. Met Marge and Ann coming from the pool yesterday enjoying the beautiful weather, and they said "We're lovin it glad we are still here!" Judy Nordquist was  to fly in to Minneapolis but changed her reservation for  about a week later.
Today is our first coffee and donut Friday, or as Darlene puts it coffee and conversation for those who don't eat donuts but still come to have coffee and visit. We get to share things happening around the park and any news from folks up North. One bit of news this morning was there are 5 big dogs coming in the park at night, they killed a black tamed cat Wed. night and last night another tamed cat a gold and white one. We need some help with this.
There are cards up we are signing, one to Ken and Sue Barnhart, Ken's Brother passed away, also one for Marlene Prohaska, surgery.

I have a picture of men tearing up and getting rid of old concrete, I believe it's lot 23. Bill Jones will have a new Park Model moved in on that spot
The new concrete pad was poured right a way and I think the new park model coming in this coming week.
I see the maintenance men are painting numbers on the curbs, some have faded or worn away  pretty bad. Bobby used to do that job, so we know how difficult it is, as some of the curbs are real bumpy and hard to get the numbers to look right, the smooth curbs are easier to paint on.
We had a good rain last week but the last few days were hot and dry and windy so we dry out fast. Yards looking pretty and green!  Oh, my jaapeno, cilanro, and herbs plants are flourishing and I have seen some lucky folks are getting nice tomatos on their plants, we have no luck with tomatos for some reason, so I didnt bother planting any this year. the pecan tree is leafing out, hoping fro a crop this year.
Sure wished we could attend Rollo and Arlene Fishers 60th Anniversary  in Albia, Iowa. We will be in Nevada then. Here's their address if you wish to send a card, 303 3rd Ave.E   , Albia,Ia. 52531, you probably will need to call them if planning to attend as they're having drinks and Dinner at the Albia Country Club.
Love you guys!

Well, that's all I can think of right now. Until next week, bye ya'll

April 5th

Well folks Summer is here!  We are supposed to have 80's and up to 90 this weekend and thru Thursday of next week.  Today was cloudy all day but mid 80's.

We have several cards up we are signing, one to Kathy Cochran who fell and broke her pelvis and has been in the hospital, one day I think. then this morning Al Lenius scared everyone thinking he was having a stroke, found out it's Palsy. I understand Palsy can last 2 or 3 months with some drooping of the mouth on one side of the face,  it's a viral thing.Anyone can get it.
Also a card for Patty Shellito  Harris in ICU.

The Park sure has emptied out.
Our Friday coffee and donuts start this Friday, the office buys the first week, then we take turns furnishing them, making coffee and cleaning up after. It's nice to get-to-gether and share new  news etc.

I saw on a friends blog that Magnolia Park was getting in quite a few mobile homes, We drove thru and saw them, found out they're Fema trailers, and all one side, there are no windows. They have just the frig and stove in them. I guess the owner of the park will be selling them pretty cheaply....We saw 6 of them.

I have planted cilantro, parsley, potatos , 2 kinds of jalepeno bushes all doing really well. After the rain everything looks so green and trees all leafed out.Lots of lillies in bloom at many mobiles.

If I hear any news I will pass it on .

I didn't make the Monday morning meeting today, but I have been told there were not over 40 people there.  Donna Granath furnished the donuts.

Yesterday was very miserable.Windy
Down to 40's, rain and wind. today has been some what better with mostly a very light drizzel. But weatherman says all will change and Sunny skies returning. We got around an inch and a half rain.
