Friday July 28th

This is a picture of Dori Rosendahls plant, we can't decide what kind of plant it is, but it put on this beautiful flower, which only lasted one day. I personaly think it's some kind of caccti ot succulent, Dori was told it was an orchid.
Donuts were provided by Mary Lantis and Herb McClish.
There was a card sent this week,to Wayne Haylen, pace maker put in.
Some ask about Loran Rutherford, he did have his leg amputated and is back home now.
Dale Clark and Larry Dixon plan on doing biscuits and gravy next week, darn hate to miss that! Their Wed. night Happy Hour was well attended as I understand.
The tropical storm is coming in North of the Valley which will give the Valley an inch or so of rain. They are not predicting any high winds so that is good.
I will have some pictures from the campout which is August 7th to the 14th, until then byeee!

Friday July 22nd

Isn't this a lovely picture? I wanted to take the Farleys picture in front of their beautiful Crape Myrtle tree, don't know if that's the right spelling or not.
They must really florish in hot weather, I know several other flowering bushes
(such as Oleander bushes) are blooming like crazy, the hotter, the better they bloom. There are pink Oleanders in front of the Post Office here in Weslaco, and they are just beautiful. But really we haven't been as hot as some summers, we haven't had much over 95 to 97 for highs, on the average, we have had in prior Summers highs atleast 100 to 102 and lows in the 80's day in day out for several months, but so far our evenings and mornings are gorgeious. North of here is where all the heat is.
We were all so surprised to hear about Glenn Babbitt passing away, we understand quite a few R.V.E. people attended his funeral.
I hope you all have viewed the nice Smile Box slideshow Mary Lou did on the Iowa potluck dinner in Story City. These pictures were the last ones taken of Glenn.
I hope to get some great pictures of the Camp out too.
We have been having good eats at our "Happy Hour" on Wednesdays, we don't have to cook that night! Don't know of any plans for parties or potlucks in the next month. We will have to make up something to celebrate!
Swaggerts provided the donuts this morning. there were 23 there.

Friday July 15th

I had jury duty this week so haven't been around much this week.
I was shocked to hear of the death of Don Solberg, their R.V.was at H-5. It just happened yesterday, he was mowing on a slope and they found him, tractor overturned, I made a card for Jo and Family.I also made cards for Dick Dekoning, knee surgery, Penny Rush, hospital, Glenn Babbitt, Thinking of you card, Loren Rutherford, hospital
61 people attended the R.V.E. potluck in Story City,Ia. Down a little from last Summer. We are looking forward to the Iowa campout, Aug. 7th to the 14th.
Thanks go to Larry Dixon for providing the dounuts this morning!

Story City

Don't forget folks the potluck dinner at Story City,Ia. is set for this coming Wed.the 13th. Bring a dish to pass, drinks furnished. They will play cards and games after the meal, so plan to stay for awhile.
We had been watching some parrots which have adopted a dead palm tree by the Motel, but they decided they didn't like us watching them and flew off, I don't think they came back again.
Lou Guier and Judy Anselmin provided donuts this morning. About 25 people came. Sue Barnhart thanked everyone for coming to the 4th of July dinner. And we gave them a big thank you for heading it up. We are having another B.B.Q. this coming Sunday, we will bring what we want to grill, steak, hamburger, chops or whatever, and a dish to pass.
