Monday March 17

So many people are asking how Anita is doing.......

Update. On Anita Farley, from talking to her boys, and receiving this message.. sent to me by Steve, her oldest Son, "She is doing better they are allowing her to be awake and to sleep without all the drugs that were given to make her sleep The drug to fight the infection is beginning to work. She is tired from the fight.  They are planning to remove the breathing tube in a couple of days. The are adding a new anti fungal drug to the mix. The doctor was able to get some more infection out of her bad lung."
Also they unplugged the ventilator and so far breathing on her own, but waiting to see how she does before removing it.

Also, the Family is together, Anita's boys are all here! 4 of them! All her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren have called her and skyped her!

I received word that Evelyn Kepler passed away. They were both in a Nursing Facility.

Following is a short synopsis of info given by Willie Martinez of the Lower RGV Development Council concerning “911” calls answered by Weslaco Police Dept. There are 3 ways of sending calls (1) voice call from land line phone, (2) cell phone, (3) Voice Internet Protocol (VOIP). In all cases, you should STAY ON LINE& DO NOT HANG UP until they get the signal. “911” uses “relative location” which is WHERE you are at the moment. He stated land lines work best but since most of us do not have them, the cell phone signal should get you “911”. VOIP would be phones based on the internet such as Magic Jack, Time Warner, etc. “911” operators are trained to take calls so LISTEN & be an active participant in the conversation.

Monday March 10th

Well, we thought Spring was here!!! It’s just around the corner, I think! lol. The cool weekend makes one wonder when the cold fronts will end!!This sign at a landscaping business was cute.
There’s been quite a few leave this last week. I sure wouldn’t want to go North just yet, after Easter would be the ideal time!!

I hope you all check my blog this Summer, we full timers will keep an eye on everything here and hope we have a calm quiet Summer. It’s more like a normal neighborhood in the Summer with people coming up with fun things for us to enjoy only on a smaller scale. We meet every Friday morning in the pool hall/card room for donuts and coffee and conversation. One of us takes turns providing the donuts and making the coffee. That’s where we can share news with each other and hopefully the management will come occasionally and update us to anything new to share with you all. And every Wednesday we meet for Social Hour with everyone bringing tasty finger food. We still play Canasta and always a ticgame going. Hand and Foot and some other games also. Also we still have aqua sizes. Most holidays we have a get-to-gether, Mother’s Day, Memorial Day, Father’s day, 4th of July etc.

Over all we have had a fun Winter inspite of the cold fronts. So many volunteering and coming up with great ideas to entertain us, feed us and make our hall nice and making new comers feel at home.

The Ten Tenors - Bohemian Rhapsody

The Ten Tenors

We so enjoyed the Ten Tenors performing this morning on Kathie Lee and and Hoda
They introduced each man so we could know which one was Jim and Darlene Ales Grandson, I think the 3rd one from the left.  They sang "New York New York" Wow that was something. I see why they are so proud of their Grandson.
