Rain

Yes we have had some rain but not like some parts of the Valley...we got close to 2 inches Tuesday night and Thursday we got just a little more, but there's rain in todays forecast and chances for rain for the next 6 days. As far as the heavy rain Tuesday night, we didnt have any ponding in the yards and all streets were clear of water. The news some times exagerates the weather here!!Tuesday night Chimney Park got high winds that tore up alot of mobiles and park models, trees and power lines down, also quite a few folks, ( more in the Western part of the Valley) had power outages, we did not get any outages.Thursday evening we got a big storm with 30 to 40 mph winds, pea size hail for a few seconds and dumped an inch or two of rain, today we have had a beautiful sunny morning like yesterday but expecting more rain later this afternoon. Also calling for rain the next several days. The grass sure is growing and green LOL

This morning Janel Baker provided the donuts. Helen just put up a card to sign for Arlene Lange #218. She had knee surgery. They are from South Dakota

I said I would post a picture of the Century plant at the corner (Maurer/Thomson home)

It's starting to die off

We have quite a few "Moss Rose"in pots in the hangers Bobby made, I just love those colorful little flowers, and I espeically like my "Blue Daze" plant

The "Xhoria" (sp.)in front of the office is just gorgious

Has anyone ever grown "okra" Bobby loves it just boiled with butter, salt, & pepper on it, I have now learned to like it. You have to pick every day, when it's and inch long one day it's 4 inches long the next day and if you don't get it picked it will grow really long, like 6 or more inches, it's no good then, it's very tough, we have given several bunches away as we can't eat it fast enough. Here's a picture of the Okra, we have another few plants beside these

Well, hope everyone is enjoying their Summer and is happy and well!!!!
