April 28th

Carmen Bernier age 75 passed away on March 26th. She lived at 273.  She was a great quilter and gave much of her time making and donating quilts.
Sorry I couldn't come up with a picture, I tried to find it on my computer and cant find it. I did make one for our Park Memory album and should have been able to find it...

Opal Wilson age 98 passed away April 8th. She was a long time Winter Texan, here in our park until 2013 or 2014, I think. She lived at 176.

April 25th

I had the top frame from my porch swing laying on this table, Bobby had made the glass topped table into this wooden topped table, the table was getting all weathered and some little cracks and rough on top. But Tom Benson thought it would come out real nice if he sanded and put poly something (sp) on it. Here's a close up of the poor table.
Look at this!!!!

Then the chairs were painted, I found a real neat Rustoleum, brown metallic spray paint

I dont know what's up with this, going out the gate!!! there will probably be flashing lights next
In 28 years never heard of a problem coming in or going out until now.

Marge and Rex Rexroad moved their mobile out last Monday, moved to a very nice park "Leisure World" I have been there before for Bingo when they had it open to other parks. They have been in our park 17 years, I think. Why? Well, I guess you need to ask them...................

Virus update

100 of 426 cases cleared in Valley
BY NAXIELY LOPEZ-PUENTE

EDINBURG — The Rio Grande Valley has reported 426 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic first hit the fourcounty region last month, and at least 100 of those have reportedly recovered.
Cameron County leads with 216 confirmed cases, and nearly 44% are connected to two Harlingen nursing homes, where a total of three residents have died as a result.
According to a news release
from Cameron County Judge Eddie Treviño, Veranda Nursing Home has been linked to 69 cases, while the Windsor Atrium has been linked to 26.
Another 54 people connected to the nursing homes are still awaiting their test results, he said Monday.
Still, the county says 70 people, or nearly 32% of all COVID-19 cases there, have recovered.

Hidalgo County has the second- highest total at 198. And while an additional eight cases were reported Monday, 21 others were released from isolation, Hidalgo County Judge Richard F. Cortez said. That means a total of 30 people, or about 15% of all cases there, have been released from isolation.
“This is encouraging news,” Cortez said. “But we cannot let our guard down. We must continue to protect ourselves by staying home and avoiding crowds.”
One death has been reported in Hidalgo County, but 32 people have been hospitalized and six of those remained in intensive care units Monday.
It’s nearly impossible to determine if any of the cases there have been linked to nursing homes or any other medical facility, as county officials refuse to release that information. On Friday, Hidalgo County spokesman Carlos Sanchez declined to confirm reports that a resident who spent six days at an assisted living facility in Pharr had tested positive, citing federal healthcareprivacy laws.
Willacy County has reported a total of five cases, including one death. And Starr County continues to keep a low count, with just seven cases reported there.

Happy Easter
Easter myspace comments, greetings and glitters

Orkut Scraps and Graphics - GoodLightscraps.com
As most of you know Bobby passed away Thursday April 9th, just 10 days before his 88th Birthday
My Easter was a pretty lonely time and not being able to have our Easter get-to-gether at the Hall was really a downer.. But Bobby's Daughters are here in the park so it's a comfort to me having them close.
We had 101 degrees in lots of the Valley yesterday but a beautiful next few days coming up with low humidity. 80 today, 79 on Tuesday and 75 on Wednesday. We may have some rain coming up for Sunday, seems like it always stays just North of the Valley tho.
this from WalMart
New shopping cart sanitation
We know your store trip starts with the cart—that's why we’re sanitizing them from top to bottom with two-gallon sprayers to help you stay safe.
Help protect yourself & others
To help with social distancing, we’ve added in-store floor decals to show what 6' looks like. We’ve also adjusted hours to allow for extra cleaning, with most stores open 7 AM—8:30 PM & pharmacies open 9 AM—7 PM.
Also you can order groceries delivered to your door, from HEB, called "Favor Delivery"
it's for people over 60. Many restaurants and food chains will deliver to your door in less than an hour using Favor.

April 5th

We have been having Summer like weather for weeks but not today!!! It's only 60's right now with a misty rain coming down. The Martins look cold! They have been sitting on eggs and some have hatched, as I see them carrying  beaks full of bugs to the nests. there must be over 40 of them huddled together here and we have 2 more houses and they are full of birds. I wish Bobby could see this. The houses are getting in need of repair, so probably when they leave this time I will have to get someone to take them down and do some work on them. They come back every year and I think lots of their offspring come back to.
The Nurses have been working with Bobby, trying to get him to swallow, he does get a few bites of   some applesauce. But he is not good. He won't be able to come home. And they won't allow any visitors in.

Being cooped up

Hi guys
Just be careful because people are going crazy from being in lockdown! Actually, I've just been talking about this with the microwave, toaster while drinking coffee and all of us agreed that things are getting worse. I didn't mention anything to the washing machine as she puts a different spin on everything. Certainly not to the fridge as he is acting cold and distant. In the end, the iron calmed me down as she said everything will be fine, no situation is too pressing. The hoover was very unsympathetic... told me to just suck it up, but the fan was more optimistic and hoped it would all soon blow over! The toilet looked a bit flushed when I asked its opinion and didn’t say anything but the doorknob told me to get a grip.😬 The front door said I was unhinged and so the curtains told me to ........yes, you guessed it 😝.....pull myself together

April 4th

I thought I better get with it and start writing in my blog, I am sure lots of folks wondering what's going on down here.

Well, here's a few pictures of what's happening
Going out the front gate?
We can only go in thru the front door

Doors not only locked but padalocked

New partition, can not use the computers now. no one allowed in any buildings.

We had a fun time the other night we decided to have a little golf cart parade, over 30 golf carts toured all around the park,  just for fun and a little deversion, some said it was a protest but it certainly was not, it was just fun and getting us out together, but 6 feet apart!!!!
We plan on another one!!
We are supposed to stay inside and only go to the grocery store , gas station, just necessasary trips. Our Vet is open but only one in the waiting room at a time.
We are helping each other as far as if we are out of eggs, flour, sugar, etc. we share

This was on my friend Barbs blog, thanks Barb
Tell Butch Hi! Butch, Barbs hubby fell and broke his femor, so they are staying in the Valley longer than planned. they live in my home town of Jefferson, IA. and have been life long friends. They were living in Magnolia Park until a couple years ago and live in Trophy Gardens now and love it.
