MANAGEMENT REPORT – Asst. manager Ken Barnhart gave report.  He spoke about a FRAUDULENT letter received by a resident stating they owed over $19,000.  When resident called phone # shown on letter, caller asked for social sec. # .. a red flag for sure.  Be on alert for these types of fraud by phone or mail.   Good news .. stray dogs & 10 puppies have gone to a good home, Jesse, RVE park employee.  A couple of situations arose this month with residents falling in their mobiles & not being found immediately.  We are urged to leave house key & up north contact # at the office.  The latest fall was Marie McClurg whose daughter drove all the way to RVE from Iowa when Marie didn't answer her phone, found her  on floor.  Marie had been there 3 days!  Let's help one another by giving our children or contact up north the office phone # or Bob's # or Ken's #.  We need some sort of system to check on folks & will see what can be worked out.  Be sure to leave a key at the office.  It should be noted our mobile OUTSIDE storm doors do not have key.  Website for park is riovalleyestates.com

UPCOMING ACTIVITIES & EVENTS

LOOKING AHEAD TO DECEMBER
Are you beginning to sort through your valuable items?  Get busy .. PATIO SALE is Friday, Dec. 1.  That's when you put these items in the front yard and sell them for fabulous prices so you will have $$$$$ for your Christmas shopping.  Leave yourself time or have someone help you in your patio so you can walk or drive around the park & purchase items you cannot live without!
Joyce Amos invites RVE ladies to the Wine & Cheese Party in Friendship Hall Thursday, Dec. 7, 3 p.m.  Bring a bottle of your favorite wine or non-alcoholic beverage & a wine glass in a bag to exchange.  Cost is $3 pp.  This is one of the best times at RVE park, so all ladies should plan to attend!   RVE men will be interested in Dec. 14 get together also chaired by Joyce.

Remember these:  “Don't worry about old age, it doesn't last that long.”  and “Good health is the slowest possible rate at which one can die.” and “Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in the hospital, drying of nothing.”

LOOKING AHEAD TO 2018
Remember the FUN we had when Dana & Craig Daves planned the cruise at SPI last season?  Well, they are at it again!  Dana has checked into going on a bus tour to the King Ranch & Museum, probably in January (maybe 23rd or 30, or Feb. 27).  She's asking those INTERESTED to indicate on a sign up sheet so she doesn't get caught off-guard & needing more than one bus or date!  This is a $69 pp tour, lunch included; and if time permits a stop at seller's market & saddle ranch.  King Ranch is located in Kingsville, 2 hours away.

Have some Canadian friends who I am HOPING will enjoy this joke.  It's about OLD GOATS!
A group of Canadians was traveling by tour bus through Holland.  As they stopped at a cheese farm, a young guide led them through a process of cheese making, explaining that goat's milk was used.
She showed the group a lovely hillside where many goats were grazing.  These, she explained, were the older goats put out to pasture when they no longer produced.
She then asked, “What do you do in Canada with your old goats that aren't producing?”
A spry old gentleman (don't think his name was Henry!) answered, “They send us on bus tours.”

WHY SENIORS CITIZENS BECOME CONFUSED:
Signs you might find posted ..
In a grocery store .. “Open 9 days a week.”
In a mall maintenance shop .. “We can repair anything.  Please knock hard on the door as the bell doesn't work.”
In a seafood restaurant .. “Buy 1 Fish & Chips for the price of 2, Receive a second Fish & Chips ABSOLUTELY FREE!”
Who knows where this was seen? .. “BEWARE OF THE DOG.  The cat is not trustworthy either.”
In a buffet restaurant .. “Thank you for taking the eating utensils home to wash.  You can bring them back now.”
And just two more signs, again don't know WHERE! ..
“WARNING .. this machine takes your money
and gives you nothing in return.”
“NO senior citizen discounts.  You have had
twice as long to get the MONEY!”

EDITOR'S NOTE .. If any of my readers do not appreciate my lame jokes .. give me some funnier ones please!  mlb
