Anthony (Tony) Dale McLaughlin, 79, Kansas City, Mo., passed away on October 22, 2018, at his home. He lived in Kansas City since 1968, and previously lived in Hamilton, Mo.
Tony was born on August 28, 1939, in Clarion, Iowa, to Lester Dale and Leola Elizabeth (Lord) McLaughlin. He was a 1958 graduate of the Penney High School, Hamilton. He worked for Trager Limestone Quarry, Hamilton. He started working at Hunt Midwest Enterprises in 1969 and retired 47 years later going from heavy equipment operator to plant superintendent, manager of eastern operations and director of special projects.
He was a member of the Faubion United Methodist Church in Gladstone, Mo., a life-time member of the Missouri Limestone Association, and an avid fisherman and hard-core Chiefs fan. He and Sue spent the last 10 years wintering in Weslaco, Texas, at RVE with their winter family.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents; daughter-Rhonda Duffin; 2 brothers-Daryl Baker and Ronald McLaughlin; and a sister-Karel Hazzard.
He married Susan Crotty on May 22, 1971, in Kansas City. Susan survives in the home.
Additional survivors: 3 daughters-Susan Lynn Dwire (Jon), Cross Timbers, Mo.; Karen Miller (Ronnie), Hamilton; and Tracey Young, Saint Simons Island, Georgia; 4 granddaughters-Kari Smith, Stevie McLaughlin, Alexis Dunn, and Toni McLaughlin; 4 great-grandsons-C.J. Dilly, Lane Dilly, Arthur Taylor Grissom IV, and Jayden Mortell; and 2 sisters-Doreen Hacker, Winston, Mo., and Marlene Hemminger, Cameron, Mo.
Funeral Service: 1 p.m., Saturday, October 27, 2018, at the Hamilton Federated Church, Hamilton.
Visitation: 6:30 to 8 p.m., Friday, October 26, at the Faubion United Methodist Church, 7113 N. Troost, Gladstone, Mo., 64118.
Interment: Highland Cemetery, Hamilton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Northland Hospice or the Faubion United Methodist Church.
