For those lucky folks who have gone home already...you missed a huge storm here. Thursday night we got hit by one of the worse storms I have seen in a long time. McAllen got the worse end of it. Around McAllen High School there was 5 to 6 inches of golf ball size hail all over everything, many many windows in businesses and home broken from the hail. wind blew around 74 mph reported at the Airport. they divorted planes landing for several hours waiting for the storm to pass. And this is what was so awful about this storm, it moved so very slowly, it took several hours for it to move out. Damage to car dealerships, school etc. Some schools had alot of windows blown out and water damage. Stripped trees of leaves. Many many cars stalled by the high water, electricity out for thousands. Our Weather man Tim Smith said he had never seen hail like this and never a storm that just sat there for so long before moving out slowly.
