RVE CLUB MEETING – Chair Marge Rexroad called our meeting to order at 9 o’clock. We recited “Pledge to the Flag” & sang “God Bless America”. Meeting closed by singing club song, ”We Love Our Valley Home”.

Accompanist – Cathy Probst

Invocation – Darlene Bryant

Secretary Report – Maxine Topel

Treasurer Report – Sandy Novak

Welcome to all new arrivals & those new to our park!

MANAGEMENT REPORT: Manager Dana Daves gave report. Park shirts may be purchased at the office, $5 each. Hats also available. A package from daughter of Marilyn Loutzenhiser (former resident, now deceased) arrived at office. It contained 2 red, 2 blue (size L) shirts. Daughter wondered if her mother possibly made these for someone? Please note sign near pool that reads “reserved morning only for postman”. If you received a water bill from this summer while you were up north, this may be paid with your rent check. Meters are read Feb., June, Oct. Orange stickers are available at office and should be displayed on all cars. If you see a vehicle without a sticker, feel free to ask driver if they are residents. “Rules and regulations” made before Daves began as managers should mirror those of sister park Ranchero Village with addition that “it is against our park rules to feed stray animals”. Dana said owner Walter Piper will be with us next week. Website for park is riovalleyestates.com

For those new to Rio Valley Estates, you are asked to complete forms showing home address, phone & lot number. Current residents who have changes in info should complete one too. You can find these forms in Friendship Hall or office area. These need to be completed & given to Dave Johnson at #93 as he prepares directories.

Board Members -- Properties – Ron Zoeller, Lynn Stamp, Mark Probst; Finance – Sandy Novak, Gordon Amos, Sandy Olson. If you have issues you’d like to present or discuss, you may contact a board member. They sit in a group up toward the right front of Friendship Hall prior to Monday meetings.

Treasurer Sandy Novak gave her report & it was approved. Properties chair Ron Zoeller reported committee still thinking about replacing curtains in kitchen if those there not okay as they are. Some residents here this summer noted those in place seemed to keep kitchen comfortable. Another comment was the kitchen lacks privacy for those counting monies after events. A suggestion we purchase a dolly to help with moving electronic piano around. When tucked away it is difficult to get out.

Pastor Bob Amos announces he & his wife are available behind stage in Friendship Hall Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 8-9 a.m.

We remind residents to wear name badges.

Helen Curtis asks you to call 603-674-3869, when you know of someone needing card due to illness/death in family. Cards to sign are in office area. If you call Helen, leave message & name. She will return calls if she knows who called. Helen was not present for a report on cards today.

Information on “Help Save Valley Citrus” and “Financial Estate Planning” presentations may be read on our back bulletin board, says chair Marge.

Pastor’s wife spoke about rates of suicide in our country. A seminar is available about this if we wish. Highest rates of suicide in USA are ages 10-25 which tripled last year and men ages 65 and over.

R.J. Brodel talked about our possum problem in park. He said if you have skirting with slats only, possum will get under your unit, have babies there, even crawl into insulation. He didn’t like the way these are currently disposed of, says he uses high power pellet rifle.
