 We have Donuts and Coffee at 7:30 a.m.every Friday during the Summer. You may sign-up  around the end of April to provide them as soon as I get the sign-up sheet up on the board in the lobby. We will have Donut Fridays until the end of Oct. I will try to keep folks informed of goings on here this Summer on my blog

Managers’ Report – None today. Website for park is riovalleyestates.com. The Park has received 2,000 ink pens .. you are welcome to stop by & pick up what you need.

Virginia Baker gave Secretary report, approved.

Sandy Olson gave Treasurer’s report, accepted.

Mark Probst reported for Properties Committee. He had no report today. When asked if he would continue recycling through the summer, he said yes. His gray rusty truck is parked in Clarence Moore’s driveway & “wherever you may find it”. Totes are in back of truck.

Donna Gabbert puts cards in office area for your signature. If you know of someone needing card due to illness or death in family, call her at 956-968-6684. Cards this week: two sympathy cards .. families of Virginia Haberkamp & Robert “Red” Floyd on their passing; and get well to Paul Kumm, hospitalized with leg infection.

Monday night dances & Friday night entertainment are both over for this season.

Today (March 21) is Winter Texan Day in Progreso, always a fun day. You still have time to head to Progreso!

Captain Richard Stubbs of the Weslaco Fire Dept. was NOT in attendance today to answer questions about Vial of Life … MAYBE NEXT MONDAY? Vials should be placed inside your refrigerator & you should put a Vial of Life sticker on your front door so emergency personnel will know you have completed form. It’s a good idea to put a copy in your glove box of your vehicle to be available while you are traveling.

Join us for Chair Zumba,…a 17 minute exercise video that will motivate you to achieve your fitness goals. Meet new people at recreation hall, 10 a.m. starting April 11,

Maxine Topel spoke about problems with roasters & electrical appliances. It was mentioned roasters can be cleaned with baking soda. Those using them should be aware water is never to be put into heat well. Aluminum inserts can be used & Maxine will be checking into what is needed to bring items up to date.

Disappointed we had no ROPA Show this season? Our ROPA Queen Pat Printy announces we’ll have one next year! Bring an outfit to model, can be from ROPA, Good Will, thrift store, etc. We’ll have a wonderful show.

Wednesday (March 23) is final Park Pizza Party this season. Chair Dean Ricke invites all to attend. It’s held at Peter Piper Pizza in Weslaco, 11:30 a.m. Wear name tag. Bring your Peter Piper cup & your soda will be free. Ice cream & prizes are given.

Happy Hour will be this Wednesday in Friendship Hall, 4 p.m. Bring snacks & choice of beverage. If you’d be willing to host, you may sign up on bulletin board. There are always folks who’ll help set up & clean up after.

Maxine Topel announced there will be a Minnesota Get Together March 24. Time is noon. There is a signup sheet in back of Friendship Hall to get hot dog/brat count.

Kathy & Dave  Cochran are hosting the Apple Knocker RVE Peachy Picnic in Cobden, IL Aug. 11-14.  Kathy has info about places to stay including hotels, cabins, camping facilities, bed/breakfast.  You may read about facilities available at VRBO.com.  Planning this with the Cochrans are Catherine Gibbs, Carleen Basler, Judy DeKoning.  A large group plans to attend.  Questions?  Check with Kathy.
