Buzz

Many of you will remember "Buzz" a very special guy who lived here in the park with his wife Jo, quite a few years ago,his Sisters Aloyce Berglund (lived here for years) at 277 and Darlene Griffin , lived across the street from me at 282.


Wade A. “Buzz” Roberts, 84, formerly of Cedar Falls, IA, passed away at his home at Holiday Lake, Brooklyn IA on June 27th, 2020.
Born September 29, 1935, Buzz married Marion “Jo” Amundson on February 1, 1971.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, traveling, country music, karaoke, and spending time with friends and family.  He also loved his winters in the Rio Grande Valley, Texas with his sisters and their husbands.
Left to cherish Buzz’s memory are his Sons, Wade Jeff (Joy) Roberts, Hudson, WI, Tim (Rebecca) Roberts, Brooklyn, IA; his Daughters, Mindy Matoke, Blaine, MN, Cindy(Scott) Wedin, Blaine, MN, Tami (Roger) Strom, Cedar Falls, IA;
His Sisters, Aloyce (David) Berglund, Weslaco TX, and Darlene Griffin, Port Charlotte, FL.  And 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Wade H. and Louise Roberts, his son, Troy Roberts, a sister Wadene and baby brother Raymond, and brother-in-law, Bill Griffin.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, July 19th at Holiday Lake Community Center, from 1-4:00 PM.  Food will be served, guests may bring drinks of their choice, please wear masks as a courtesy to others.
His famous words were “I never met a stranger” and “Get Er Done”, and that he did!
Buzz will be missed by many.  Memorials may be directed to the family in care of Jo Roberts, 2176 Highview Court, Brooklyn, IA 52211
